Landscape photographer, nature lover, traveller and eternal wanderer

Born in the Peak District in the UK, an area renowned for its dramatic landscapes and natural beauty, I have always been drawn to the outdoors. Despite growing up in a landscape photography hotspot, my own photography journey didn't begin until I had moved away.

In 2009, while studying at university in Birmingham, I first visited the Isle of Skye. I fell in love with the island the moment I saw the Black Cuillins emerging from the clouds. After several years of returning to Skye and thousands of disappointing phone photographs, I was inspired by the work of professional landscape photographers to buy my first DSLR and try to capture those mountains for myself.

It didn't take long for photography to become an obsession. When I was given the opportunity to travel in 2018, my camera was coming with me. I left the UK with a one-way ticket to Australia and a backpack full of camera gear, and photography quickly became part of how I experienced the places I travelled through.

I eventually found myself in Canada, initially planning to spend a year backpacking before moving on. When the COVID-19 pandemic changed those plans, I decided to stay and made the Yukon my home. Living there gave me the chance to spend more time outdoors with my camera and to develop a deeper connection with photographing wild landscapes.

After several years in the Yukon, I set off once again in a self-built campervan, travelling the Pan-American Highway from Alaska to Argentina over the following two years. The journey allowed me to photograph an enormous variety of landscapes and wildlife, but more importantly, it changed the way I approach photography. Rather than chasing particular locations or images, I became increasingly interested in responding to the light, weather and landscapes I encountered along the way.

Today, that sense of exploration is at the heart of my photography. I'm drawn to landscapes that feel natural and uncontrived, and to the fleeting changes in light and weather that make a place feel different from one moment to the next.

I invite you to join me on my journey. Click here to read about my current adventures.

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”
